Clinic Appointment

You treatment begins with a 30minute face-to-face consultation. This will focus on your symptoms, medical history, and precipitating factors. If applicable, you'll be offered immediate advice which will aim on improving your symptoms, leading to recovery.

Acute Treatments

Some conditions can develop with little warning and requires acute treatment. Whenever safe to do so, you'll be provided with this treatment, which may include antibiotics, antacid therapy, prescription only laxatives, steroids, or nutritional supplements.

Chronic Treatments

Long-term conditions will require ongoing management, and can include conditions such as Barrett's oesophagus, Crohn's disease, or chronic liver disease. The treatments offered will include medications, procedural, and even surgical input.

Upper Endoscopy

Endoscopic examination of the upper gastrointestinal tract is called an OGD (OesophagoGastroDuodenoscopy) but commonly called 'endoscopy' by patients. An OGD will enable the gullet, stomach, and duodenum to be examined for a cause of symptoms.

Lower Endoscopy

Endoscopic examination of the lower gastrointestinal tract is called a ileocolonoscopy, or sigmodoscopy if a limited examination. This will enable the colon and final section of the intestine (terminal ileum) to be examined for a cause of symptoms.

Polypectomy

This procedure is completed using an endoscope, most commonly in the lower GI tract, so during colonsocopy. Colonic polyps can develop into bowel cancer if left untreated so tools are passed down the endoscope to remove the polyp, which should be a painless procedure.

Haemorrhoid (Piles) Electrotherapy

Haemorrhoids, more commonly known as piles, are swollen veins close to the anal canal. Symptoms include anal itch, pain (proctalgia), stinging, and bright red bleeding, often described as 'spotting'. Piles can be treated using electrotherapy, which can be completed in as little as 30min.

Parenteral (IV) Treatments

A range of intravenous (parenteral) treatments can be offered for patients intolerant of oral treatments or those unable to absorb oral medications (i.e. bowel surgery, Crohn's disease etc) including iron infusions, vitamin D replacement, B12 replacement, and micronutrient deficiency.

Weight Loss Management

A global assessment to create a bespoke care plan to meet your weight loss goals safely will be offered. This will include dietary and lifestyle modifications, fatty-liver review, and weight loss medication as required.

Blood Assessment

Blood sampling is a simple yet effective method for assessing general health. Once the results are available, individualised treatment plans can be offered to optimise your health and well-being.

Liver Fibroscan

Liver fibrosis is the precursor to an irreversible liver disease called cirrhosis. This simple, non-invasive, painless external technique will quantify any liver fibrosis, enabling a treatment plan to be offered.

Nutrition Plans

Patients unable to meet their nutritional requirements will be given an individualised nutrition plan. This will start with supplements (ONS), but may require enteral tube feeding (NGT / NJT), or intravenous feeding (SPN / TPN).
